I know the foodie purist and cook would never consider using anything from a can, and Sandra Lee is considered the Devil. But I’m totally in favor of reaching for a canned item if it doesn’t affect the meal in a negative way. A lot of canned goods are a lifesaver when time is limited – beans for chili, olives in a pasta dish, or pineapple chunks on pizza, to name a few.
Sloppy Joe mix, though? Uh, no. I’m sorry, but it’s just gross. In the case of these Sloppy Joe Sliders, adapted from Everyday Food, adding a small amount of time to your prep, saves you from all that extra sugar and preservatives.
These are great to make if you’re inviting a group over, or have children, since you can eat with your hands. I serve the filling on King’s Hawaiian Rolls for added sweetness.

Love the idea of Hawaiian rolls instead of the usual bland tasteless rolls we usually have…the contrast of flavors will be super…
haha….get it…super…you know…like for super bowl……*laughs at her own cleverness*
Sounds Yummy Amy. I am making them today! I’ll let you know how it goes with the kiddos.
