So lately I’ve got the blahs. A case of the Mondays. That pretty much last every single day.
I’m severely mourning summer coming to an end. And we’ve been out of Pretzel M&Ms for over a week now. I might as well jump off a bridge.
So, you know what this means? It means Amy is about to do something extreme.
Oh ya.
Because, Dear readers, I don’t know middle of the road. And when I’m uninspired, I look for something to kick my butt.
I am a doer.
A doer who doesn’t always think clearly.
So, while the rest of the food blogging community is about to participate in Project Food Blog for a chance at $10,000
I’m about to start this….
I’m already tired just thinking about it.
And hungry. For pasta. Because pasta is my friend in times of excess lunging, jumping, and screaming for mercy.
This is light, yet very filling. And every bite has the wonderful flavor of sesame oil, with just a hint of zing from the chili oil. It’s so incredibly easy and good, that there really isn’t any excuse not to make it. Unless you’re insane. In which case, want to sign up for this workout program with me?
I’m starting next Monday. Giddy Up!
You can follow my progress with daily updates on Twitter and weekly updates on FaceBook. I’ll post before and after pictures when my 60 days of Hell are up.
Simple Sesame Noodles
Serves 6
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
• 12 ounces thin spaghetti
• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
• 3 tablespoons sesame oil
• 1/2 teaspoon hot chili oil
• 4 tablespoons canola oil
• 2 tablespoons hot water
• 4 whole green onions, chopped
Directions
Bring a pot of water to boil. Salt water and cook pasta until al dente, 6 minutes. Drain.
While pasta is cooking, whisk all other ingredients (except green onions) together in a bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Pour sauce over warm noodles and toss to coat. Sprinkle with green onions and toss again.

For some reason I can’t see the recipe on this post. Any idea why?? Please help I would love to make this. Thanks so much!!
Great post – not sure if I’ll join in on the insanity workout…well I AM sure…I’m definitely NOT! but I will be eating that delicous pasta. Thanks for sharing with Presto Pasta Nights.
Insanity workout keeps you sane. Yay! …and some simple good carbs like the sesame noodles. Yay yay!
Good luck with the excericise program! (see I can’t even spell it right!) GREG
Daphne – I’ve heard of Zumba…they actually offer those classes at the place I take my kids for gymnastics. I’ve never really paid attention to it, though. Now I will! Thanks for the encouragement!
J – Hello lovely! I am absolutely taking pictures. And will post them. Scary. But I figure it will keep me honest. For the record, you scuba diving is MUCH more impressive than me exercising, on land, in the privacy of my own house.
Holy crap! I’m so impressed. Be sure to take your picture on day 1 and day 60. I’ll just be over here cooking pasta.
GO amy GO! This looks soo simple but comforting!
Good luck with the program! I have been getting on the zumba wagon and it has been fun! so hope u will find something that u will enjoy as well.
Karen – I think pasta is comforting, too. You’ll love this one. We miss you!!
Natasha – Announcing my participation sort of holds me accountable. That’s good…and bad!
Will be looking forward to following your progress with this work out program! The noodles look delicious!
I was having a horrible day-my child is refusing to complete her work at school, and I have not had time to knit. I looked for a week for the pretel M&M’s and girl at Walgreens when I said it was for my daughter looked at me funny.
This recipe is perfect-I always eat pasta when I am stressed-thank you Amy again for a great posting. Karen
Dani – you know now whenever I post a pasta dish, I immediately think about you. And how disappointed you’ll be! Don’t worry, there will always be sweets in my future.
Joanne – I saw you were participating! I think it’s awesome. You’ll be a contender for sure. I’d get booted after the first round. Why couldn’t the video portion come sooner?? E-mail coming your way about Foodbuzz.
Lisa – I get SO many recipes from you. Like a treasure trove.
Mom – You will love this, Mom. Done in 20 minutes. Good warm. Good cold. Make it!! As for the workout…I told you I wasn’t thinking clearly.
Jen – Well, if you read the post ;-) it said at the end I’m starting next Monday. You’re partly responsible, you know, with the whole marathon training show off thing.
Stephanie – I suppose it would be silly to sign off at such a young age. Think of all those brownies, slices of pie, and cookies I’ll be missing out on. And thanks! I promise to stretch before and after!
I’m thinking that a few cases of the Monday’s and no Pretzel M&Ms (even though that IS sad) isn’t a reason to KILL YOURSELF! Good luck, anyway, and be careful!
Yeah, you’re definitely crazy. When are you starting?
This is the easiest recipe I’ve seen in a long time and will have no excuse not to try it. As for the workout, you are insane to even think of attempting. What are you thinking?!
Yeah I’m so glad you decided to make this. It’s really versatile too. I’ve made it and thrown in some chicken and broccoli and there’s supper! Glad you liked it.
Count me in as insane. Have fun with that, lol.
so while you are losing your food blogger fifteen, I will be gaining it and then some while doing Project Food Blog. Excellent. And what a perfect time for pasta as you’re definitely going to need to carb load in preparation for that workout. Seriously.
Oh this sounds so good. I love sesame. I love noodles. I love this.
Interesting news. I may be going to the Foodbuzz Festival in November. Which is located. In SF!!! I’ll keep you posted…need to reassess my school schedule before I make any REAL decisions!
Well, you know how I feel about pasta, Amy, so I guess that makes me insane. Unfortunately {thank goodness} my vertigo will prevent me from signing up for the workout program with you. Darn! And it would have been so much fun. I’ll be happy to cheer you on though! Good for you~I know you can do it~you go, girl! Have fun! *Big Sharing in Your Commitment to Do This Hugs*
