I’d like to say that I was so consumed with Superbowl food, that I completely spaced on Valentine’s delicacies. But the fact is V-Day falls so close to Haley’s birthday that all my focus is always on her special day. Also, if it doesn’t involve a large group or having the day off from work, then it ain’t no holiday!

But I know most of you are expecting soooomething. Come on Amy! Show me a red and white cake…some heart shaped cookies…a picture of people kissing…something!

So I bring you these Raspberry Rockets from Fix Me A Snack. They’re red and white, involve chocolate, and no cooking. A great after-school-snack or welcome-home-from-work-dear goodie, or I-could-have-just-given-you-fruit-but-stuffed-chocolate-inside-it treat that I says I love you.

NOTE: if when you make these, be sure to buy ripe, but firm raspberries, very gently rinse them and allow them to air dry before stuffing them.

The great “checkered” Better Homes and Garden is our most used cookbook. Still use our old one, as the newer ones changed the recipes!

Betty Crocker Old Cookbook, I don’t even know the year – it is old, old, old – it has my original pancake, etc recipes, which I really know by heart. The pages are taped, etc.

My go to book is one with these glorious pictures. Its The Complete Encyclopedia of Vegetables and Vegetarian Cooking. I always end up there when I can’t remember how long to cook corn or ideas for making green beans taste good.

Not only did I “like” the EYC page, but I can’t wait to be a part of that, one way or another. I am doing some spring cleaning and had to relocate many cookbooks that I just can’t part with. Awesome idea!

I use my Betty Crocker Bridal edition cookbook the most. I have lots of cookbooks that I like more, but this one is handy when I need a basic recipe.

The eat your books site sounds interesting, I’ll have to check it out. My cookbook that I made is probably my most used however, if I had to pick another, I’d say the Taste Of Home Diet book, I’ve found a lot of things in there. Thanks!

365 Easy Italian Recipes. I use it for ideas and proportions. It’s unpretentious and lies flat when it’s open. Then the 1950 Betty Crocker ring-bound cookbook for everything I made when I was teaching myself how to cook. Also lies flat!

My most used cookbook is probably the Wisconsin Herb Cookbook by Suzanne Breckenridge and Marjorie Snyder. I got it when I was in college and it just has so many delicious recipes that I make them even though they are just a tad too time-consuming for my busy life. I love it.

How cute are these?! And of course they’re healthy because they’re raspberries, right??? Right.

I’ve heard of this site before, and it sounds so fabulous! I adore my cookbooks, but being able to search them electronically would be so much more convenient than trying to remember where I read that “must-try” recipe.

At the moment, my most used cookbook is probably Ann Burrell’s Cook Like a Rock Star, but overall it’s probably Marcella Hazan’s Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking.

Much as I switch between the Joy of Cooking (both the 1975 and the 1997 edition) and the Doubleday Cookbook (1975 ed), it’s more likely I’ll find what I want in the Doubleday. I do admit though, if something is missing from there, the Joy of Cooking will have it.

My favorite quickbread recipie however is from a newspaper clipping from NYC from when I was a child. Works like a charm – and it’s a bookmark in the Doubleday :)

My most “loved” cookbook is my Betty Crocker cookbook, that somehow never got turned back in at the end of the school year, back in the 70′s. It’s lost it’s cover, the pages are slightly (LOL) worn..but it’s been my life saver from the 1st day we got married!

Those raspberries look delicious!!
I have not heard of eat your books but how handy would that be seeing as how I probably have 100 cookbooks!! Don’t really use them much since I have soo many but I would have to say Julia Childs volume 1 or The Joy of Cooking. Mostly for reference.

Thanks for the link. Love your photo. I can’t wait for raspberry season in my neck of the woods.

I have used Eat Your Books and found it really helpful. My subscription recently ran out and I do find myself missing it.

These days I use America’s Test Kitchen’s Family Cookbook a lot. It’s a gem.

Oh man, that’s awesome! I’d love, love, love to win this! My most used cookbook is probably Donna Hay’s “The Instant Cook”–it’s full of great, simple recipes.
