Pam cooking spray, Wesson vegetable oil, Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn, Pudding Snack Packs, Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard, RO*TEL…all products in my pantry. Always. And all products that are part of the ConAgra Foods family.
ConAgra Foods was founded in 1919, but they’ve been making food you love since…you ready?…1861! That’s when Gilbert C. Van Camp manufactured pork and beans. I’d say they’ve, um, grown a little since then *ahem*.
Their newest venture is The Dish, which is an online resource center created especially for bloggers. It gives bloggers cooking advice and tips, inspiration for blog posts, and exclusive coupon offers.
The Dish provides quick access to ReadySetEat, which highlights easy recipes (using a lot of standard pantry items you probably already have on hand.) Currently, they’ve got some great grilling information for the summer in their Seasonal Spotlight area.
Their “First Look, First Taste” area is a goldmine for bloggers. Simply provide your blog URL, and see what’s on tap from ConAgra, be the first on your block to try out new foods, and score samples from brands like the ones I mentioned above (plus Healthy Choice, Hunts, Hebrew National, Egg Beaters, and many others). Here, members are also able to ask the team of 12 experts questions and get the latest grocery news from Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert.
For bloggers, there are even some great tips on writing better posts. One that really resonated with me is an article from Jodi Grundig. In “Expand Beyond Your Blog,” she gives some simple, yet really effective, tips on growing your online presence.
But overall, one of the best features of the site is the easy navigation. It’s a cinch to snoop around, ask questions, find new recipes, watch videos, and read the good stuff. If you’re like me, you don’t want to hunt and peck for good recipes – all the links are within a click.
The online food community is like a family, trying to spread the culinary love and help each other out. ConAgra has fit right in to assist all of us at being a little better in sharing what we love: cooking great food.
So, what are you waiting for? Go sign up for free and become a member of The Dish!
And bonus! The folks at BlogHer and ConAgra are giving away a $50 Visa Gift Card to one lucky reader. To be entered for a chance to win, simply let me know what feature of The Dish do you think you will find most useful?
