Do you feel that – the tears rolling down your cheeks? The hollowness in your stomach? The sadness in your heart? Just me, huh?

This is it, friends. The final addition to my Summer Smoothie Series. Done. Over. No more! Waaaaa. I think I’m sort of mourning the end of the series as much as I am the end of summer. But it’s been a fun ride, no? 

When I was developing smoothies for this series, I didn’t exactly have a plan of any kind in terms of heathy verses dessert, or a preference of regular yogurt, frozen yogurt, or ice cream. I just knew what foods I like and what flavors generally work well together.

As I made this last one – this classic milkshake – I realized what a great range these 12 weeks have had. I’m really proud of it.

(Vitamix) Vanilla Malt Milkshake
Serves 2
Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients
• 1 cup vanilla ice cream
• 1/2 cup skim milk
• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons malted milk powder
• 1 cup ice cubes
• crushed malted milk balls, optional

Directions
Place ice cream, milk, vanilla, malted powder, and ice into a blender and process for 1 minute or until desired consistency is reached. Pour into tumbler glasses and sprinkle with the crushed malted milk balls.

You are one of my new favorite blogs that I have come across this week, the sad part is, I’ve missed all these awesome smoothie recipes but for now I am going to settle with drooling over the previous posts!

I am definitely mourning the end of the series. I’ve made almost all of them. Who says you can’t post smoothies in the winter? ;-)

You’ve really covered EVERYTHING this summer! I’m impressed you had no larger plan behind it, outlining a certain number of healthy v dessert recipes. Love that you went out with a bang!
