Like you all didn’t see this one coming! HA. Paul wrote the lyrics in about 10 minutes. The video, however, took a lot longer. So much work, as always. PLEASE SHARE so all his sleepless nights and me nagging was worth it!

"Happy" Parody (Happy Food) Video on www.veryculinary.com

You could even submit it to The Ellen Show. Just sayin’…

Want to sing along?

It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
You can slide that plate of food my way
I love to eat what’s in front of me
I’ll gladly clean the plate is what you’ll see

Because I’m happy
Clap along if you love some cherry tomatoes
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you love fettucini alfredo
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you love a porterhouse steak
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you love a three layer cake

Here come bad news head to the store, yeah
well, gotta leave the house and go buy more, yeah
well, it’s a sunny day gonna use my feet, yeah
think i’ll start right here and eat to the beat
Here’s why

Because I’m happy
Clap along if you love some barbecued chicken wings
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you love some deep fried onion rings
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you don’t need a fork or a knife
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like food is your life
Because I’m happy

(happy)
chow it down
keep trying’ to chow it down
your love is the food
chow it down
can’t nothing stop me now
i said (let me tell you now)
chow it down
can’t nothing stop me now
i love my food
chow it down
can’t nothing stop me now
i said

I’m Happy
Clap along if you love some warm fudge souffle
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you love some tasty creme brulee
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you don’t need a fork or a knife
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like food is your life

If you’re not one of the 77+ million people to have already watched it, here’s the original for reference.

Enormous thank you’s go out to some of my favorite people: Cher, Shawn, Heidi, Meghan, and their kids. And my entire family, because they’re awesome. I mean…

This guy. My Dad.  I can’t even…

Reply

Amy @Very Culinary February 26, 2014 at 3:05 pm

Hahahaha! What’s funny is, he wanted a fedora so badly, I got that for him about 5 years ago for his birthday. And after seeing the original Pharrell Williams video, he said to me, “We have to do a parody. I already have the hat!”

Your family is a riot– a wild, kooky, joyous, crazy town, full on RIOT!!!!! I am in awe of you all and I wish you and Paul had your own reality show– a 24-hour musical variety act paired with AMAZING FOOD. I would watch it 24 hours a day and make whatever you were cooking so I could eat along with you guys.

Love it! This is probably Jerry’s theme song. I’ve never met a man who loves food like he does. He’s almost not a good person to ask if you are in doubt about what you made because he will say he likes it. Anyway, this is great!! P.S. I think that there is a slight possibility that your hair is curlier than mine is. Not sure, because I’ve had it straightened for so long that I kind of forget. Mine is poofier, though. #trialsofacurlygirl

Reply

Amy @Very Culinary February 26, 2014 at 2:41 pm

Oh Julie, I giggle and scoff a little when I hear you and Stephie complain about your curly hair. No. You two still have the curly hair that is enviable. Trust me!

Reply

Julie February 26, 2014 at 5:46 pm

I need to message you a picture of my hair when it’s natural. I have a few. Stephie’s, on the other hand, is good. If my hair would curl at the same rate that would help. Sigh. Thank goodness for Richanne, my hair therapist and a sweet husband that pays for me to have it straightened every. single. week, just like the proper little old lady I am. :)

Dad February 26, 2014 at 6:07 am

The guy in the bunny hat deserves an Ellie, could easily have fit into the top 10 of Dancing with the Storks, deserves a medal just for not singing, and I understand that Price & Sons is looking for him as a senior model for his new line of Fuzzy hats to go with the boots.

That was fun!

Reply

Amy @Very Culinary February 26, 2014 at 2:39 pm

I, of course, watched the editing process. I’ve probably seen this video 50 times now. And I still howl when you appear in that rabbit hat! You win.
